About AHN Intergenerational Education & Training

Apples and Honey Nightingale Intergenerational Education & Training (AHN) are a training centre working in collaboration with Apples and Honey Nightingale Nursery and Nightingale Hammerson. The Nursery was the first nursery to be built in the grounds of a Care Home within England.

With the continued interest in Intergenerational Practice, we have developed our courses alongside our ambassador Dr Judith Ish-Horowicz MBE HonDEd. We have developed the UK's first NCFE accredited Level 3 Diploma in Intergenerational Care and Education.

The aim of this qualification is provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to embark on your Intergenerational Practice journey, introducing you to not only the principles, benefits and barriers of IG practice, but delving into the finer detail of health and safety, working with volunteers and completing your own IG programme. This course is aimed at Care Home practitioners, Educators and community practitioners who are wanting to establish Intergenerational Practice within their own setting.

In addition, we have developed a set of short CPD one day courses. These courses are for anyone who is interested in Intergenerational Practice and wants to find out more.
