CPD & Short Courses in Intergenerational Practice

The Learn pathway brings together AHN’s CPD and short courses in intergenerational practice. 


These programmes are designed as accessible entry points, allowing individuals and teams to build understanding, confidence and practical insight, either as standalone CPD or as preparation for accredited learning and longer-term development. 


All courses are certified by the CPD Certification Service and if you book both courses at the same time, you can save 5% on fees.

Short Course: Introduction to Intergenerational Practice

The Introduction to Intergenerational Practice course is a one-day CPD-certified programme designed to provide a clear, practical introduction to intergenerational work. 


The course is suitable as a standalone CPD opportunity or as a first step into AHN’s accredited learning pathways.


Location: Online

Format: Live interactive delivery

Duration: One day

Course Fees

Individual: £95


Group (up to 5 people): £90 per person


Group (up to 10 people): £85 per person


Group (up to 15 people): £80 per person 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, learners will:

  • Understand the core principles of intergenerational work


  • Explore how different intergenerational programmes meet participant needs


  • Understand the benefits and challenges of intergenerational practice across different age groups


  • Recognise the importance of planning and evaluating intergenerational activities

Short course: Introduction to Observing and Evaluating Intergenerational Experiences

This in-person CPD course offers a practical introduction to observing and evaluating intergenerational practice in a live setting. Delivered at Apples & Honey Nightingale Nursery and Nightingale House Care Home, the course provides participants with the opportunity to experience intergenerational work in action and reflect on quality, impact and delivery.


The course is designed to complement AHN’s introductory learning and can be taken as standalone CPD or as preparation for accredited study.


Location: Nightingale House, London

Format: In-person

Duration: One day (six hours)

Course Fees

Lunch is included with all bookings

 

Individual: £120

Group (up to 5): £115 per person

Group (up to 10): £110 per person

Group (up to 15): £105 per person 

 


Learning Outcomes

A full day (six hours) of in-person learning includes:

  • Observation of a variety of intergenerational experiences and activities
  • Guided reflection and evaluation
  • Opportunities to meet members of the senior leadership team
  • Lunch is included
